GSKCN4Day 01 0930hrs depart from city centre based Hotels/Nairobi office for a journey south along the floor of the great rift and then climb the western wall entering the Hemmingway's country 'Serengeti Plains'. Visit the Maasai museum to learn the tribe' history. Arriving in time for lunch. 4pm Game drives. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains' game, black maned lion, leopard and cheetah, but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya . All meals and overnight at the campsite. Day 03 same as day 02 or you can go for a 3hour walk instead. The Maasai people are so named after their language "maa" and despite not being numerically strong, they are never the less Kenya 's best known tribe. They have their deep involvement with cattle " I hope your cattle flourish is a typical greeting". Cattle represent wealth but also mean food, drink blood and meat-They provide leather for long lasting sandals, and beds and they are a currency for marriage fines and sacrifices. Life for a Maasai is a series of ceremonies and celebrations. Day 04 Breakfast. Depart for Mara, arriving Nairobi by lunchtime. Please note lunch is not included on the last day. |
